The trainings take place from Monday till Saturday and the children receive a daily meal prepared by women of the local communities hired to this effect. (see project of nutrition). The social workers of UCC visit regularly the workshops in order to follow the children's evolution and discuss with the artisans.
The program began in 2004 and since then Maison des Enfants du Monde has organised annual trainings for 111 children (an avererage of 30-40 children per year). In May 2007 the fourth cycle of trainings has started in favour of 30 young people (19 girls and 11 boys) who have chosen the folowing workshops:
Tailoring: 10 adolescents
Hair-dressing: 10 adolescentes
Mechanics: 10 adolescents

Workshop in tailoring
Maison des Enfants du Monde has equiped the centre of Uganda Children Centre with 6 sewing machines, in order to give the opportunity to the children of following this workshop during one year with a qualified instructor. The young learn how to make clothes for children, shirts, skirts and trousers for adults, as well as traditionnal dresses.Thanks to this workshop, the teenagers will have the necessary skills to find a job in tailoring workshops or create their own little workshop where they will be able to sell their products. The social workers of UCC are in charge of monitoring the children after the training and help them in finding a job.

Workshop in hairdressing
The workshops in hairdressing take place in hairdressing salons located in two neighbourhoods of Kampala. (Katwe and Kisenyi), where the teenagers learn the necessry techniques to become professional hairdressers. Moreover, they have the opportunity to be engaged in these salons after their trainings.

Workshop in carpentry
The workshop in carpentry situated in the neighbourhood of Makindye trains the teenagers to the wood treatment and the making of furniture.

Workshop in motor-mechanics
The social workers of UCC encourage the teenagers to follow this workshop because it is a sector with lot of job opportunities. The teenagers learn how to repair vehicles, industrial painting, welding, etc...
