"Africa Development and the European Union's development policy"

On Wednesday 4th February 2004, the association Maison des Enfants du Monde and the Pablo Iglesias Centre organized a Conference-Debate about Africa development and the EU's development policy in Africa. The two speakers of this event were the Member of the European Parliament Francisca Sauquillo and the First Secretary of the Uganda Embassy in Belgium, Julius Kagamba.

Mr Kagamba explained the present situation of Uganda and the aid received from Europe. Mrs Sauquillo gave a general overview of the relationships between the EU and Africa, since the first agreements of cooperation between the two continents until nowadays.

After having answered to the questions of the numerous participants, the two speakers thanked the organisators if this interesting event.
