Objectives of Maison des Enfants du Monde

Maison des Enfants du Monde is a non-profit-making association established in Brussels (Belgium) since 2002, aiming at improving the living conditions of street-children in the developing countries, by giving them access to housing, health care, education and vocational training so that they can be accepted back into society. Moreover, the association organises projects to improve the situation of children living in difficult situations, known as “children at risk”, so that they do not end up living on the streets as a way of survival. The Association also carries out actions to heighten public awareness of the problem of street-children amongst the local communities and authorities, so that they can participate in helping the children be accepted back into society.

Maison des Enfants du Monde is an independent organization that does not have any political or religious affiliation, and always works with a local partner organization that has experience in working with street-children.

Maison des Enfants du Monde is member of the network IDAY « International Day of the African Youth » established in 2004, aiming at making the civil society and the public authorities from Europe and Africa aware to the need to implement actions in order to promote that the Millenium Development Goal for the primary education is achieved in 2015 in Africa. http://iday.skynetblogs.be
